Founder and Audiologist
He was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He attended the University of Manitoba where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Certificate of Education, and then attended Minot State College where he received his Master’s Degree in Audiology.
Ian has been married for 33 years to Debbie Gillespie and they have one wonderful son, Kevin. They moved to Texas in 1997 and 3 years later Ian started Texas Professional Hearing Center. Ian has been an audiologist for over 29 years, helping the hearing impaired community of all ages.
Dr. Lacey Brooks
Dr. Lacey Brooks received a bachelor’s degree in Biology and Chemistry in 2003, and earned her Doctorate of Audiology in 2009. She completed her clinical internships and residency at various facilities within Houston Medical Center.
Dr. Brooks is a professional member of the American Tinnitus Association (ATA), a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (AAA), a member of the Texas Academy of Audiology (TAA) and is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). She is also the vice president of the Louisiana State University Houston Chapter Alumni Association.
In addition to her years of experience identifying, diagnosing and treating all types and degrees of hearing loss, Dr. Brooks has spent the last ten years becoming an expert in Tinnitus management and therapy. For over seven years, Dr. Brooks successfully ran and operated more than six audiology clinics for one of the largest practices in the state of Texas.
Dr. Brooks prides herself on providing her patients with the highest quality of care. She loves her patients dearly and feels so fortunate that she gets to help improve their daily lives. This love, combined with her impressive skill set, business experience and passion for helping people hear has made Dr. Lacey Brooks a wonderful addition to the Texas Professional Hearing Center team. She has been married to her husband Kevin since 2015 and welcomed their first little girl to the world in 2018.
Dr. Merin Jacob
Dr. Merin Jacob received a bachelor’s degree in Speech Language and Hearing Science from Temple University in 2014. She worked as an audiology assistant and hearing aid dispenser before earning her Doctorate of Audiology from Salus University in 2020. She completed her clinical internships and residency at various facilities in Pennsylvania, Delaware and Texas.
Dr. Jacob believes in taking a holistic approach to managing hearing health and treating hearing loss. She enjoys working closely with patients and their families to identify their specific hearing needs, deliver exceptional hearing healthcare, and provide a better quality of life through improved communication. She strives to keep herself current on new technology and the latest research in an effort to better serve her patients.
Dr. Jacob maintains a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/A) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed to practice Audiology in Texas and Pennsylvania.
Cindy Joy Johnston
Hearing Instrument Specialist
Cindy Joy Johnston was born and raised in Midland, Texas and has lived in the Houston area since 2007. She has 3 children and 2 grandchildren. She started her career in the hearing aid industry in 2011 and has been a licensed Hearing Instrument Specialist since 2014.
Cindy Joy’s greatest joy is to help others improve their quality of life through better hearing. She is very passionate about making sure every patient receives the highest level of care and counts it as blessing to partner with them to make sure they do not miss out on any of the precious moments in their life. Precious sounds matter!
Lyndi was raised in Baytown, but moved away to Oklahoma in high school where she lived for 24 years. She returned to her Texas roots last year to marry her childhood sweetheart. She has 2 daughters, 2 sons and one granddaughter.
Lyndi began her career in the hearing industry five years ago while in Oklahoma and discovered that she had a great passion for hearing health care. Lyndi loves her patients and strives to make sure that they are always getting the best sound from their hearing aids and receive quality hearing health care service. She truly enjoys getting to know her patients on a personal basis so that they feel welcome and well cared for. Lyndi's favorite part of being in the hearing health care industry is hearing about how much a person's life has improved with their hearing aids. It brings her great joy!
